Gorgeous Unit in the heart of Downtown Miami (2900)

Beautiful and very clean apartment, but the overall guest experience needs improvement Positive: The apartment itself has a lot going for it. It was exceptionally clean, the location in Downtown Miami is excellent, and the views from the balcony are beautiful. It is a corner unit on a high floor, so the city views are especially impressive. The bed linen was very pleasant, the pillows were comfortable, and the apartment was clean enough to walk around barefoot, which I really appreciated. I would also like to mention the YOTEL staff member at reception, who was extremely helpful when we had problems accessing the apartment, even though the apartment itself is managed separately by Avanti Stay. Negative: Unfortunately, there were several issues that significantly affected the overall experience. First, I think the Booking listing should make it much clearer that the apartment is located inside the YOTEL/YOTELPAD building and is privately managed within a hotel/condo complex. This was not clear to us from the main description. I think this is important information, because not every guest looking for a private apartment necessarily wants to stay inside a hotel-type building. Check-in was frustrating. We had followed all the instructions, installed the app and set up the digital key in advance. However, after arriving from a long flight from Europe, the key did not work. We had to go back and forth between the 29th floor and reception, reinstall the app, try different codes and call Avanti Stay before we were finally able to enter the apartment. Altogether, this took more than an hour, which was a very unpleasant start after a long journey. The kitchen was also disappointing if you actually plan to cook. The frying pan was extremely old and heavily worn, to the point that we did not feel comfortable using it. There were also no basic provisions such as coffee capsules or cooking oil. We had specifically chosen an apartment partly because we planned to prepare some meals, but in the end we mostly bought prepared food or ate out. Netflix was mentioned as available, but it could not actually be accessed because the TV required a verification code sent to the owner’s email. The air-conditioning in the bedroom blows directly towards the bed, which made sleeping less comfortable. The mattress was also a little too firm for my personal preference. The final check-out message was probably the most unpleasant part of the communication. It felt manipulative to be explicitly asked for a 5-star review, told that even a lower positive rating could negatively affect the host, and encouraged to share any criticism privately instead.
